Churches Together in Hucknall, Linby and Papplewick (CTHLP) are working with Ashfield District Council and the local Police to consider running a ‘Street Angels’ scheme with the aim of reducing anti-social behaviour around the High Street on a Friday / Saturday night.
The aim of a scheme like this is simply to serve as practical way of showing God's love our community . For example, being there to talk to people, handing out bottles of water, giving a pair of flip-flops to women who lose their shoes, picking up glass bottles so they can’t be used as weapons, getting people in taxis, giving basic first aid if needed etc. The video on the left hand side shows a 'street angels' scheme in Scarborough.
Before detailed plans are considered, CTHLP would like to gauge support. If you may be interested, please see the minister, one of the stewards, or complete the contact form on the website.
