The people of Nottinghamshire are being invited to put their brains to the test in support of the world’s poor for a ‘QuizAid’ evening at Hucknall Central Methodist Church on Friday September 24th.
QuizAid is a national initiative from Christian Aid which runs through September aiming to raise £230,000 for the world’s poorest communities. Local volunteers are organising events across the country in workplaces, church halls, pubs and homes, all using selections from a set of standard questions prepared by Christian Aid.
Mike Allcock, organiser of the Hucknall event, said, “It’s a few years since we last held a QuizAid in Hucknall. That event was well attended and I hope even more people will be able support this year’s quiz and the vital work of Christian Aid in the developing world and responding to natural disasters. Although the event is being held in a church hall, everyone is welcome to come along and test their mental powers!”
The quiz will begin at 7.30 pm, with mental warm up activities from 7.15 pm. Admission is £1 per person, free for under-11s, and teams can be formed on the night. Refreshments will be available and all proceeds will go straight to Christian Aid’s work in developing countries.
Please contact Mike Allcock on 0115 968 0563 / web.hcmc@ntlworld.com for further details or just turn up on the night.
