Making Time (& Lunch) for God

Our January Hall worship theme is 'Making Time for God' and we've been looking at the Lord's Prayer and considering different types of prayer and how music can help us worship.

On Saturday 16th January the Chapel was open for '12 hours of prayer' and individuals, groups and families put aside an hour to concentrate on being with God. There was the opportunity to try different kinds of prayer, beginning with 'Breaking Through The Barriers' which separate us from God. There were 'Smartie prayers', alphabet prayers and the opportunities to be creative including art and collage as well as the opportunity for silence, stillness and contemplation.

On Sunday 31st January we'll be trying to make more time by extending our worship time to include a shared lunch (for both those who have chosen to worship in Hall or worship in the Chapel that morning) and en extended time of fellowship. Please see Mark D for more details.

Events Page Added to Website

A new 'Events' page has now been added to the church website (see News / Events) from the menu) to provide details on forthcoming events involving our church community.

Events will continue to be listed on our calendar, but this new facility will allow us to give more details about what's happening. The first events to be included are our '12 Hours of Prayer' on Saturday January 16th, a 'Behind the Music' evening at Seymour Road Baptist the same day and a talk by Dr Rev Howard Worsley on his experiences 'Motorcycling across the Sahara' on Thursday February 4th.

Family Carol Service Emerges from the snow!

Despite plenty of 'white stuff' falling from the sky earlier in the afternoon, there was a full church for our family carol service at 4.30pm on Sunday December 20th.

Prepared, and led, by members of our 'Emerge' young people's group, the service used multimedia to retell the Christmas story through the eyes of some of the 'fringe' characters who witnessed Jesus' birth.
