Love Football (2) - Hate Football (2)

[After the match...]
We marked the end of the 'World Cup' with a weekend of activities of themed activities to think about ''Does God Love or Hate Football?'.

Saturday opened with a football match at National School between the generations, in which the teenagers eventually securing victory (on a very hot day) with a flurry of late goals! Back at 'Central' the afternoon continued with some sporting challenges and the opportunity to think about Faith and Sport. Burgers, sausages and a quiz (was John Barnes really the best left midfield / winger England have had since 1980?) provided teatime respite before the non-footballers took over for a film show (and the football fraternity went home to watch Germany-Uruguay).

On Sunday morning Mark continued our 'Hall Worship' on the theme linking football, food and justice together as we tried to decide God's opinion on football.

More to come in 2012 for the Euro football (if we qualify) and the Olympic Games!
