A tree celebrating 'Joy and Peace' is Central's contribution to Hucknall's first ever Christmas Tree Festival taking place at the Parish church of St Mary Magdalene on Hucknall Market Place.The festival will feature up to 50 trees and opened at 6 pm on Wednesday 1st December, even though the Christmas Carnival had to be cancelled due to the weather. Most church activities, including Toddlers, Boys Brigade, Friday Lunches and Saturday Coffee are continuing as usual, despite the cold snap. The Phoenix Group Coffee Evening has been postponed from January 6th to Wednesday 13th and the Music Group rehearsal planned for January 8th has been postponed until Friday 15th.

Despite plenty of 'white stuff' falling from the sky earlier in the afternoon, there was a full church for our family carol service at 4.30pm on Sunday December 20th.Prepared, and led, by members of our 'Emerge' young people's group, the service used multimedia to retell the Christmas story through the eyes of some of the 'fringe' characters who witnessed Jesus' birth.

After a slight delay our refurbished church kitchen has had a busy start to its new life and Friday lunches resumed on Friday, February 13th.
